The weekly newsletter for new managers

We answer all of your specific career questions, bring in experts, and share our successes and failures.

If you're a first time manager or want to go into management, this is for you.

44% of new managers feel unprepared for their role, 87% wish they would have had more training before becoming a manager, and 60% fail in the first 2 years. Why? Because employees who are good at their jobs are often promoted to management positions even though they might not have any interpersonal skills or experience as a manager.

You worked hard to get to this point in your career and we want to give you the tools you need to succeed. As two people who jumped into management a few years ago, we dealt with a lot of challenges and were lucky to have a supportive network of mentors. We started this newsletter as our way to pay it forward. We'd often joke about how great it would be to email someone and get an outside opinion on our leadership challenges. That idea turned into Level Up. We're discussing our own experiences (the good and the bad), getting leadership experts to share their tips, and answering your questions.
